REPENT TO THE COVENANT OF LOVE   (SEMINAR NOTES)

DO WE "REPENT" OF OBEYING THE TORAH,

OR "REPENT" OF DISOBEYING THE TORAH?

WHAT WOULD YAHUSHA TELL YOU?

MANY BELIEVE THE COVENANT GIVEN TO ISRAEL HAS BEEN DONE AWAY WITH.

"No one who lives in Him keeps on sinning (against His Torah)."  (see 1 John/Yahukanon 3:4-6)

Another way of putting that is,

"No one who lives in Him keeps on disobeying His Torah."  The core message of the Mashiak of Israel is:

Repent, for the reign of Yahuah draws near!

“In the past (Alahim) overlooked such ignorance, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent.  For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the man He has appointed.  He has given proof of this to all men by raising Him from the dead."  Acts 17:29-31

Let’s look at how REPENTANCE is spoken of in the Word of Yahuah

REPENT is English for the Hebrew word “SHUB” or SHUBAH”,

Often written “TESHUVAH” and means:

turn back, turn around, return  --  referring to one returning to the Covenant.

The Covenant (TORAH, teaching) CONVICTS us of our sin, defining how we have transgressed the will of Yahuah.

Entering the Covenant makes us fellow citizens of ISRAEL (Eph. 2:8-13).

1 Yn. 3:4 gives us a brief definition of what “sin” is:

Examining the core meaning of this sentence, it resides in only three of the words:  “Sin is anomia”, or

transgression is lawlessness.

KJV:  (WITH CONCORDANCE NUMBERS IN GREEN)

1Jn 3:4  Whosoever3956 committeth4160 sin266 transgresseth also the law:4160, 2532, 458 for2532 sin266 is2076 the3588 transgression of the law.458

The Scriptures (ISR):

1Jn 3:4 Everyone doing sin also does lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.

NIV:

1 John 3:4:  Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.

The Greek word (G#4160) POIEO is translated in the KJV “committeth”; and in the ISR version, “doing”.

The NIV renders this word as “breaks”, based upon the concept of casting off, purging, exercising or ordaining “ANOMIA” (lawlessness).

From a close study of the text, it should read,

1 Yahuchanon 3:4: “Everyone exercising sin exercises lawlessness (anomia);  sin is lawlessness (anomia)."

The Greek word “POIEO” is used twice in the sentence, yet is rendered “doing” (ISR) or “committeth” (KJV); while a clearer way of saying it is with the word “exercises”.  By saying “Everyone who sins breaks the Torah”, we are really paraphrasing.  The word “ANOMIA” is the word NOMIA (law, Torah), with the prefix “A”, meaning “against” or “without”.  The meaning is still the same, however it is always best to keep the text as pure and clear as we can possibly keep it.  The next part of the text follows here:

1 Yn. 3:5,6:  "But you know that He appeared so that He might take away our sins. And in Him is no sin.  No one who lives in Him keeps on sinning.  No one who continues to sin has either seen Him or known Him.”

Note:  False teachers don't want you to observe the original Sabbath day, but they insist on you "tithing" 10% to them, observing what they call "an old testament law".  They claim the Sabbath is just "OLD TESTAMENT"   --  but they miraculously spare and endorse tithing, leaving the sign of the eternal Covenant behind!  (Sabbath is the sign of the eternal Covenant, yet it must be lower in importance than tithing).  When they claim the Sabbath is not binding, ask them why tithing is still expected and the Sabbath-rest is not.  (Hebrews 4 states that the Sabbath-rest remains for Yahuah's people).

Every time we meet together, come in, go out, rise up, lie down, sit in our home, or walk along the way, we are told to speak of Yahuah’s Torah, and write them on our doorposts and our gates:

THIS IS THE “WAY”:

NOTE:   The Catholic format alters these 10.

They eliminated the 2nd Commandment, and made the 10th Commandment into two!

The Covenant /Marriage Contract (BRITH)  Ex 20:1-17

ASERETH HA’DABARIM (10 WORDS)  Yahuah’s Covenant, our wedding vows:

LITERAL TRANSLATION:

“And Alahim spoke all these Words:

1.  ‘I am Yahuah your Alahim, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

You shall have no other alahim before My face.

2. You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the Earth beneath or in the waters below.   You shall not bow down to them or worship them;  for I, Yahuah your Alahim, am a jealous Alahim, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep [shamar, guard] My commandments.

3. You shall not cast the Name of Yahuah your Alahim to ruin, for Yahuah will not hold anyone guiltless who casts His Name to ruin.

4. Remember the Shabath day by keeping it qodesh.

Six days you shall labor and do all your work,  but the seventh day is a Shabath to Yahuah your Alahim.

On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates.  For in six days Yahuah made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day.

Therefore Yahuah blessed the Sabbath day and made it qodesh.

5. Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land Yahuah your Alahim is giving you.

6. You shall not murder.

7. You shall not adulterate.

8. You shall not steal.

9. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.

10. You shall not covet your neighbor's house. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”

A QUESTION:  I've been wondering, why in the world do Christians have such animosity towards Torah-seeking believers?  Sometimes I feel extremely left in the cold around Christians, as I used to attend a Foursquare Church when I was younger.  It seems like if you mention anything Torah-related, such as "I can't eat that" or "I can't go shopping today, it's Shabbat," they give you such a dirty look and sometimes throw a small fit.  I've noticed it even more with my mother, who is a Mormon, as she has an even worse attitude regarding Torah.”

AN ANSWER FROM SCRIPTURE:  They don't "see" because they do not yet have the Spirit (Ruach, Ruak, breath, wind) of Yahusha dwelling in them, as we did not at one time.
The "mind" of the Spirit means "from the point of view" of the Spirit -- they are looking at things from their point of view, not His.  The fleshly point of view, or the MIND of the flesh, does not wish to be controlled by anything but its own rebellious nature:

Rom 8:5-9
Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Ruak have their minds set on what the Ruak desires.  The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Ruak is life and peace;  the sinful mind is hostile to (Yahuah).  It does not submit to (Yahuah's) law, nor can it do so.   Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please (Yahuah).

You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Ruak, if the Ruak of (Yahuah) lives in you."

To have the Spirit of Yahuah living in you, you must first OBEY:

Acts 5:32
We are witnesses of these things, and so is the (set-apart) Spirit, whom (Alahim) has given to those who obey Him."

Repenting (returning) -  or not repenting to the Torah

will determine everyone’s eternity.

We will either be redeemed, or we will literally burst into flames on the last day.

The coming of Yahusha at the end of the “Great Tribulation” or “Great Distress” is the day of our redemption, but the day of burning for the lost.

Yahusha will only redeem those in His Covenant, ~ and lay-waste those not in His Covenant with consuming fire.

As Kepha/Peter tells us, the ELEMENTS will burn:

2 Peter 3:9-17:

“Yahuah is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness.

He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

But the day of Yahuah will come like a thief.  The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.

Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?  You ought to live qodesh and pious lives as you look forward to the day of Yahuah and speed its coming.  That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.  But in keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a renewed heaven and a renewed Earth, the home of righteousness.

So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him.   Bear in mind that our Master’s patience means salvation,  just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that Yahuah gave him.   He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters.  His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position.”

It is coming soon, and is also known as “the day of the LORD” among Christians who study prophecy.

How does Yahusha direct us to prepare for this “day”, foretold to be the “end of the times of the Gentiles”?

What message was spoken by Him, and all the prophets, to Israel?   REPENT!

Matt 28:19-20:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, immersing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Ruach haQodesh,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

Our deeds (behavior, acts) display whether or not we are repentant.

John 3:16-21

"For Yahuah so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.   For Yahuah did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.   Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the Name of Yahuah’s one and only Son.   This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.   Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.   But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through Yahuah.”

“Light” and “truth” refer to the TORAH.

The call to repent is the consistent message of all Scripture:

To the House of Israel, the Samaritans:

Ezek (Yehezqel) 18:30-32

"Therefore, O house of Israel, I will judge you, each one according to his ways, declares the Sovereign Yahuah.  Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.  Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit.

Why will you die, O house of Israel?  For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign Yahuah.  Repent and live!”

Hos 11:5

"Will they not return to Egypt and will not Assyria rule over them

because they refuse to repent?”

Jer (YermeYahu) 15:19

"If you repent,  I will restore you that you may serve Me;

if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be My spokesman.”

Job (Iyyob) 36:10

“He makes them listen to correction

and commands them to repent of their evil.”

Isa (YashaYahu) 59:20

"The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in YaAqob who repent of their sins,"  declares Yahuah.”

Matt 3:1-2

“In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the Desert of Judea 2 and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near."

Matt 4:17

“From that time on Yahusha began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of Yahuah is near."

Mark 1:14-15

“After Yahuchanon was put in prison, Yahusha went into Galilee, proclaiming the besorah of Alahim.  ‘The time has come,’ He said.

‘The kingdom of Yahuah is near.  Repent and believe the besorah!’"

Luke 13:5-9

“But unless you repent, you too will all perish."

“Then He told this parable: "A man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any.  So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, 'For three years now I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't found any.  Cut it down!

Why should it use up the soil?'

"'Sir,' the man replied, 'leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilize it.  If it bears fruit next year, fine!  If not, then cut it down.'"

("FRUIT" in the above parable represents obedience).

Acts 2:36-39

"Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: Alahim has made this Yahusha, whom you exterminated, both Sovereign and Mashiach."

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the Name of Yahusha ha’Mashiach for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Ruak ha’Qodesh.

The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off-for all whom Yahuah our Alahim will call."

Acts 17:30-31

“In the past Alahim overlooked such ignorance, but now He commands all people everywhere to repent.   For He has set a day when He will judge the world with justice by the Man He has appointed.

He has given proof of this to all men by raising Him from the dead."

Rev 2:4-6

“Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love.  Remember the height from which you have fallen!  Repent and do the things you did at first.  If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.”

THE RENEWED COVENANT WITH THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL  -  The work of Mashiach Yahusha:

Jer (YermeYahu) 31:31-33:

“’The time is coming,’ declares Yahuah, ‘when I will make a new Covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Yahudah.   It will not be like the Covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke My Covenant, though I was a husband to them,’ declares Yahuah.   ‘This is the Covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time,’ declares Yahuah.

‘I will put My law (TORAH) in their minds and write it on their hearts.

I will be their Alahim, and they will be My people.'”

IMAGINE Yahusha standing up in a fishing boat, and delivering a message to a congregation of His followers.

Ask yourself these questions:

1. Would He endorse the existence of “denominations” or schisms among His followers?

2. Would He tell His followers that obeying the 10 Commandments, eating clean animals, and observing the festivals of Yahuah are “LEGALISM”, and should be avoided because they seem far too “Jewish”, or they are “OLD TESTAMENT?”

3. Would He promote the man-made “sacraments”, rosaries, processions with statues, and have everyone receive an ash cross placed on their forehead on the first day of “Lent”?

4. Would He teach us to blow out the candles on our birthday cake and make a wish, and eat more ham sandwiches because He declared the meat “clean”?

5. Would Yahusha promote a man claiming “apostolic succession” to teach the world to receive His “grace” through 7 sacraments?

6. Would He allow any man to be honored to be in His place (VICAR), to speak for Him, and rule over the kings of the Earth with the title "Holy Father"

--  or is this more like the beast we read about at Rev. 14?  (quoted below)

7. Would Yahusha wear either of these two items on His head?

MITRE: Perfect for pontificating!               Yarmulke / Kipa   (Hebrew for "dome")

8.  Would Yahusha, while standing in the boat addressing the crowds, explain the deeper meaning of His Torah by comparing the gematria (mathematic equivalence) of certain Hebrew words with other Hebrew words?

9.  Would Yahusha tell you that "Sun-day" is fine to think of as the 7th day of the week, and that the blessing placed upon the 7th day was now moved to a day previously honored by sun worshippers?

10.  Do you detect any "misdirection" coming from those who have taught you lies in the past?

Has the world been led astray?

Identity of the beast (by a number), and the MARK of the beast:

The 4th beast is Rome, and previous to the second century CE it had six numerals.  When added together, the sum produced a number which identifies it as the beast:  D = 500;  C = 100;  L = 50;  X = 10;  V = 5;  I = 1

Rev 14:6-12

“Then I saw another messenger flying in midair, and he had the eternal besorah to proclaim to those who live on the Earth-  to every nation, tribe, language and people.  He said in a loud voice,

‘Fear Yahuah and give Him esteem, because the hour of His judgment has come.

Worship Him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water.’

(How does He say we are to worship Him?  By obeying His Commandments.)

A second messenger followed and said,

‘Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great, which made all the nations drink the maddening wine of her adulteries.’

A third messenger followed them and said in a loud voice:

‘If anyone worships (obeys) the beast and his image and receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand,  he, too, will drink of the wine of Yahuah’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of His wrath.  He will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the qodesh messengers and of the Lamb.

And the smoke of their torment rises forever and ever.

There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name.’

This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey Yahuah’s Commandments and remain faithful to Yahusha.”

The Mark of Papal Authority:

“Sunday is our mark of authority.…The church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact.”

Source:  The Catholic Record, London, Ontario, September 1, 1923.

The Catholic Catechism

“Question: Which day is the Sabbath?”

“Answer: Saturday is the Sabbath.”

Question: Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?”

“Answer:  We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church in the Council of Laodicea (A.D. 336) transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.”

Source:  The Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, by Peter Geiermann, 50.

“Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change [from Saturday to Sunday] was her act. And the act is a MARK of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters.”  — C. F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons.

“Prove to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no such law in the Bible. It is a law of the holy Catholic Church alone. The Bible says ‘Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.’ The Catholic Church says, No. By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week. And lo! The entire civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to the command of the Holy Catholic Church.”

— Thomas Enright, CSSR, President, Redemptorist College (Roman Catholic), Kansas City, MO., February 18, 1884.

“The observance of Sunday by the Protestants is an homage they pay, in spite of themselves, to the authority of the [Catholic] church.”   — Monsignor Louis Segur, Plain Talk About the Protestantism of Today (1868), p. 213.

“If Protestants would follow the Bible, they should worship God on the Sabbath Day [Saturday]. In keeping the Sunday they are following a law of the Catholic church.”  — Albert Smith, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, replying for the Cardinal in a letter of February 10, 1920.

“The State, in passing laws for the due sanctification of Sunday, is unwittingly acknowledging the authority of the Catholic Church, and carrying out more or less faithfully its prescriptions.

The Sunday, as a day of the week set apart for the obligatory public worship of Almighty God, to be sanctified by a suspension of all servile labor, trade, and worldly avocations and by exercises of devotion, is purely a creation of the Catholic Church.”  — The American Catholic Quarterly Review, January, 1883, pp. 152, 139.

“Protestants... accept Sunday rather than Saturday as the day for public worship after the Catholic Church made the change.... But the Protestant mind does not seem to realize that...in observing the Sunday, they are accepting the authority of the spokesman for the church, the Pope.” — Our Sunday Visitor, February 5, 1950.

“It is well to remind the Presbyterians, Baptists, Methodists, and all other Christians, that the Bible does not support them anywhere in their observance of Sunday. Sunday is an institution of the Roman Catholic Church, and those who observe the day observe a commandment of the Catholic Church.” — Priest Brady, in an address, reported in the Elizabeth, N.J. “News,” March 18, 1903.

Obeying and "lifting up" Yahusha is done by obeying His Commandments.

Now, let's look at this Hebrew word:

NASA  -  Hebrew word, lift up, arise, raise:  word #5375, spelled nun-shin-ayin

NASA Yahusha  literally means “lift up Yahusha”.  Uses of the word "NASA" are common in Scripture.

NASA AYIN  (lift up your eyes)

NASA ROSH (lift up your head)

2 Cor 2:14-3:1

“But thanks be to Yahuah, Who always leads us in triumphal procession in Mashiach and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of Him.

For we are to Yahuah the aroma of Mashiach among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.

To the one we are the smell of death;  to the other, the fragrance of life.  And who is equal to such a task?  Unlike so many, we do not peddle the word of Yahuah for profit.  On the contrary, in Mashiach we speak before Yahuah with sincerity, like men sent from Yahuah.”

A THOUSAND GENERATIONS (ALEPH DORE)

HOW LONG IS THAT, and WHAT IS TO LAST THAT LONG?

How long is one thousand generations?

#505  ALEPH, ELEPH:  ONE THOUSAND  (ECHAD IS “ONE”).

#1755 DORE:  GENERATION, CYCLE, AGE

In each case of the word “DORE”, it refers to the progeny that follows.

A single generation is described as a father begetting a son, and that son is referred to as the “next” DORE, or generation.

A “LIFETIME” is also a cycle of time, but a “DORE” is associated with progeny.

20 years of age – a male is required to observe the festivals.

Assuming the age of 20 to be potentially the minimum average “cycle” or “DORE” for the next “generation” to be begotten:

1000 x 20 = 20,000  . . . . . if we take the phrase above literally.

20,000 years becomes our minimum timeframe for Yahuah’s promise.

“Covenant of love” and a “thousand generations” is found in the Covenant itself:

Exodus (Shemoth) 20:6, and Dt. (Debarim) 5:10

WHAT IS TO LAST 1000 GENERATIONS:    The Covenant of Love  (TORAH)

Deut 7:6-13

Yahuah Elohenu has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be His people, His treasured possession.

Yahuah did not set His affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples.  But it was because Yahuah loved you and kept the oath He swore to your forefathers that He brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.  Know therefore that Yahuah Elohenu is Alahim; He is the faithful Alahim, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commands.

But those who hate Him He will repay to their face by destruction; He will not be slow to repay to their face those who hate Him.

Therefore, take care to follow the commands, decrees and laws I give you today.

If you pay attention to these laws and are careful to follow them, then the Yahuah Elohenu will keep His covenant of love with you, as He swore to your forefathers.  He will love you and bless you and increase your numbers.”

A question:

Since i have been Messianic i have learned so much truth that i am very thankful for, however i have been hearing some things that sound strange to me. Please correct me if i'm wrong. I have been told by some Messianics that the "christians" are saved, they will be at the wedding feast but not the bride. They believe they are saved because they believe in "jesus". They say the jesus they believe in is the same Yahshua that we believe in. I brought up 2 Cor. 11:4. Paul warns about a different Yahshua. How can people be saved when they are still in the Babylonian religion? In 1John it says those who love Me keep my commandments. They said they are keeping the commandments to the best of their understanding. I know that Yah is merciful but I can't accept what i am being told by other Messianics about these things. The Savior that I know now is totally different than the savior that i believed in when i was keeping sunday, christmas, easter etc.... the jesus that is being taught to the world is lawless and practices pagan celebrations. This is not the Yahshua of the Scriptures.

What Scripture tells us:

Yahusha confirmed and thoroughly expanded the idea of sin, exposed by the Torah.  He said, at

Matt 5:21-22:  "You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, 'Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment .'  But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment.  Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca,' is answerable to the Sanhedrin.  But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell."

Yahusha emphasizes the need for repentance from sin:

Matt 12:41:  "The men of Nineveh will stand up at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and now one greater than Jonah is here."

John 9:39:  (Yahusha) said, "For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind."

Even the civil authorities are to be obeyed:

Rom 13:1-5:  "The authorities that exist have been established by (Alahim).  Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what (Alahim) has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.  For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong.  Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority?  Then do what is right and he will commend you.  For he is (Alahim's) servant to do you good.  But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing.  He is (Alahim's) servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.  Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also because of conscience."

2 Cor 5:8-10:  "So we make it our goal to please Him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it.  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of (Mashiach), that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad."

Even the demons believe in Yahusha;  but they will not obey Him:

James (Ya'aqob) 2:19:  "Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.  You believe that there is one (Alahim).  Good!  Even the demons believe that-  and shudder."

James 2:12-14:  "Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom,  because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful.  Mercy triumphs over judgment!  What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds?  Can such faith save him?"

1 Peter 4:17-18:  "For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of (Alahim); and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the (Besorah) of (Alahim)?  And, 'If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the (impious) and the sinner?'"

We are not to judge, but show love and compassion toward those who struggle with accepting the true Besorah;  patiently enduring all things as they wrestle with the conflicts created by the false teachings.  We are not told to "try" to obey, we MUST obey.  We are also to warn our neighbors that they are not doing the will of Yahuah, otherwise we share in the acts committed by them.  Again, repentance is the key:

Ezek 3:17-21:  "Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.  When I say to a wicked man, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.  But if you do warn the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die for his sin; but you will have saved yourself.

"Again, when a righteous man turns from his righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before him, he will die. Since you did not warn him, he will die for his sin. The righteous things he did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for his blood.  But if you do warn the righteous man not to sin and he does not sin, he will surely live because he took warning, and you will have saved yourself."

We cannot assume that those outside the Covenant have any hope in the world-to-come, so we must speak without guile to everyone who will listen.  It is out of love, not judgment, that we speak to them.  They will know what is in our hearts as we warn them, so the motivation must not be based on our own judgments, but on the Word of Yahuah.

We must speak clearly, explaining that the only people on Earth who obey Torah are Israel, and wrath is upon all other's heads because they have rejected Torah.  The bride is Israel, and those outside the Covenant MUST engraft through the Covenant and BECOME Israel (Eph. 2:8-13, Rom. 11).  The Mediator of the Renewed Covenant is our Husband, who becomes our Kinsman Redeemer.  We have to "marry" Him, by joining in the only Covenant He has freely offered to all mankind.  We are commissioned to teach all nations everything Israel is commanded to obey:

Matt 28:18-20:  "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the (Ruach ha'Qodesh), and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

Abraham's faithfulness has become the blessing to all nations as Yahuah promised.  The disconnection to the Hebraic roots of the faith has been the central problem with Christianity, in spite of their trust in their sin-eating false messiah.  He who obeys Torah is righteous, enabled by the living Spirit of Yahusha within them:

1 John 3:7-10:  "Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray.  He who does what is right is righteous, just as He is righteous .  He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning.  The reason the Son of (Alahim) appeared was to destroy the devil's work.  No one who is born of (Alahim) will continue to sin, because (Alahim's) seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of (Alahim).  This is how we know who the children of (Alahim) are and who the children of the devil are:  Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of (Alahim); nor is anyone who does not love his brother."

Repent  ~ and take care to follow the Covenant of love.

Response to these seminar notes on repentance:

Hello and peace be with you. I have read your article http://www.fossilizedcustoms.com/repent.html .

"You have stated that Christians cannot go to heaven because they believe in "Jesus" not in Yahusha as the Torah have taught. They don't believe in keeping the obeying the Torah given by Yahuah. But still then, I think that christians cannot be totally blamed for the mess because for one thing, they don't know the Truth as yet (there are so few to tell them). Surely Yahuah will take this into consideration. And then again, what if Yahuah's Grace is much more than what we think? I have seen miracles being perform by the people who called out the name of "jesus" (I guess that means they will not be held accountable until they know the truth). Perhaps considerations should be there for the millions of people put there who are trying to live as best as they can as what they have been taught. How can so many victims be blamed when in fact they have no idea that they have been decieved by the Catholic Church?"

Lew responds:  Ideally, this is also my hope, that Yahusha will have the chasid (loving kindness) you describe.  But to not take His words seriously is the primary trait of the current description of believers today, and the last assembly before His return.  He said,  "But unless you repent, you too will all perish." Luke 13:5

Laodicea is neither cold nor hot, so He tells them they must "repent";  He also uses the phrases "hears My Voice" and "opens the door".  Hearing His Voice is hearing His Torah, the Words that boomed so loud that Israel stood at a distance and were afraid of being killed from the sound alone.  "Opens the door" means they allow Him to come into them, bringing a love for His Torah with Him to live in them.  Repentance is the heart of Laodicea's (the last assemby's) hope:
"Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline.  So be earnest, and repent.   Here I am! I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears My Voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me."

Rev 3:19-20

We must assume that Christianity is not acceptable because it has rejected Torah, but like you, I hope the deceived adherents may be presented with the Truth before Yahusha utterly condemns them.

But we must also remember, many will come to Him and declare their stunned surprise:

"Many will say to me in that day, Adonai, Adonai, have we not prophesied in Your Name?  and in Your Name have cast out devils?   and in Your Name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work
iniquity (LAWLESSNESS, ANOMIA)

Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock."
Matt 7:22-25

This is what makes this assembly in which we live "lukewarm".  Apathy defines it.  Some of us that are "hot" are being singled out as not being more "moderate", and "even" with the rest.  Neither cold, nor hot, is the goal of this assembly  -  but Yahusha has made some of us "hot" for His Torah, so we may do as He said, "be earnest, and repent."
