SHEMITAH - SABBATICAL YEAR TEACHINGS

DISCUSSIONS ABOUT:

SHEMITAH AND THE LAND

SPECIAL CLOTHING?

WHEN YAHUSHA WAS ACTUALLY BORN

SHEMITAH

Joel (Yual) chapter 2 and NekemYah 8 give us insights into the harvest festivals, the final unfulfilled outline (shadow) of Yahusha redeeming His bride, Yisharal.

Lately we hear a great deal about the "Shemitah" - the 7th year of each Sabbatical cycle.

The land is to rest.

Danial 9:2, YirmeYahu 25:11 & 29:10 speak of the exile to Babel being 70 years because of the failure to allow the land to rest.

"The first to state his own case, seems right, Until another comes and examines him."   Pro 18:17

WHAT LAND IS TO REST EXACTLY?

While in the wilderness, the weekly Shabath and other appointed times (moadim) were observed, but once they entered the land the instruction of letting the land rest became active.

The land is the place we are told that is to lie fallow, and that’s what makes “the land” special, different from all other places on Earth.

When exiled to Babel, they did not observe the festivals at all, as we learn by reading about how the returning exiles from Babel are mentioned here:

Neh 8:17-18:

“And the entire assembly of those who had come back from the captivity made booths and sat under the booths, for since the days of Y’shua* son of Nun until that day the children of Yisharal had not done so. And there was very great rejoicing.

And day by day, from the first day until the last day, he read from the Book of the Torah of Alahim. And they performed the festival seven days. And on the eighth day there was an assembly, according to the right-ruling.”

*(Y'shua: yod-shin-uau-ayin) This is the only occurrence found in all Scripture of the shortened form of the Name Yahusha. This is a reference to the son of Nun.)

It’s shocking to learn how the ancient people totally ignored the moadim for so long.

We are scattered among the nations, captive among the gentiles.

When Yahusha regathers us to "the land," we will once again observe the Shemitah, and allow the land to rest every seventh year.

If we want to do this where we are now, in the lands of our captivity, we may notice the 6th year is not producing enough to get us through over two years' food needs.
That's because Yahuah didn't tell us this applies to the whole world; just the land.

The idea that "the whole world is the land of Yisharal"

and "the land of Yisharal is Yerushalayim" is a false teaching.

Our true treasure is not physical, such as food reserves.

If we have the enduring treasure, Yahusha's peace and wisdom enables His ambassadors to be living instruments of His love.

His instructions (Torah/Toroth) are written in our heart, and no one can steal them from us; rust and moth cannot harm them.

His Torah is our treasure.
Be careful what "yoke" you listen to; be sure it's from Yahusha, and not men's traditions.

"My son, listen to My Words; Incline your ear to My sayings.

Let them not depart from your eyes; Guard them in the midst of your heart;

For they are life to those who find them, And healing to all their flesh.

Watch over your heart with all diligence, For out of it are the sources of life." - Proverbs 4:20-23

SPECIAL CLOTHING?

ARE WE COMMANDED TO WEAR A TALLITH?

"What shall we wear?" (Mt. 6:31)

Were you "yoked-into" buying any sort of special clothing items by anyone?
Take a look at 1 Kings 19:13 and 2 Kings 2:8 and see the Hebrew word ADAROTH, H155.

The definition for the item AliYahu struck the water with meant his ROBE, an outer garment. There was nothing magical, special, or exciting about this garment.
What was special about the situation is the Spirit of Yahuah was upon
the man, and the water parted.

If you bought an expensive blanket with Hebrew writing on it, try using it to part a lake. If it doesn't work, throw it out and ask Yahusha how to serve Him in more productive ways to reach the lost sheep. The woman who was healed when she touched Yahusha's tsitsioth had belief in His ability to heal her, not the ability of His tsitsioth to heal her. The power went out from Him, not His robe or the parts of it she touched. We are commanded to wear tsitsioth at Num. 13 & Dt. 22.

Please love one another.

People use casuistry and equivocation to deceive.

WHEN WAS YAHUSHA BORN?

The idea is spreading that Yahusha was born on Abib 1, not in the fall during the festival of Sukkoth (Tabernacles).

Their "case" is based on the idea that lambs are born in the springtime. The trick is accepted because this sounds logical. The shadow (outline) of our redemption is in the 7 appointed times, and has nothing to do with when lambs are born, but rather when lambs were slain.

The yoke (body of teachings) must conform to Yahusha's redemptive plan, and not the case studies (casuistry) of men's ideas.

Please don't be deceived. Yahusha was born during the harvest festival of Sukkoth, when He tabernacled among us. His birth was on the 15th of the 7th month, and He was circumcised on the 8th day of the festival.

When He re-gathers us to Himself at His coming, we will come into His "barn" or "tent" as His bride during the festival of Sukkoth. I hope to be there to help serve the dinner, and clean up afterward; how about you?

To sit and eat of the Wedding Supper of the Lamb will be the most special event to ever take place in the history of all creation.
