Greetings: A member of my staff gave me a copy of The Besorah to look over.  I did so, and I thought I would share my reaction with you.  Your Bible came across to me as a legalistic, cultic approach to translation.  We speak English, not Hebrew or Greek.  There is nothing wrong with transliterating Hebrew and Greek names into English.  I do no object to transliterating them more correctly or using Yahweh instead of LORD.  But to resort to palaeo-Hebrew script is absolutely bizarre – even ridiculous.  Our relationship with God and His Son does not depend in the least on our pronouncing their names as they were pronounced in biblical Hebrew. Furthermore, despite all your arguments to the contrary, no one know for sure how YHWH was pronounced. Your guess is as good as anyone’s, but it is still a guess. I was appalled by the photograph on page 19. Do you really expect anyone to take this version of the Bible seriously when it contains such a photo? The photo would be appropriate only as an illustration of the whore of Babylon in Revelation 17. No Orthodox Jew would even consider reading a “Bible” containing such a photo. Finally, as I scanned through the Bible, it became very clear to me that this was not a translation at all. Rather, it is a reworded commentary that often strays from the true meaning of the verses. With concern, Dave Reagan

Response from Pam Stanford:
Dear Dave, Thank you so much for looking at a couple of pages in The Besorah. You are very correct, some readers can not get past pictures and there are very few readers that read any bible straight through.  Fact:  the paleo-Hebrew Name that has been restored to Scripture after 2,200 years is the way that our Father (The Law Giver) wrote His Name in the Ten Words and the Torah. He will always write His Name the same way although men think they have been successful in scratching it out over 7,000 times. It is ok by me that intelligent people think it silly. Do the research, it is all there for the picking.

The Besorah was freely gifted to you by us.  Our only agenda is to educate the reader so to read, formulate their beliefs and form opinions for themselves. Indoctrination is not part of the plan.

The first followers of The Way in the first century were also considered a cult, but then you know that.

Again, we are so happy that you received it even though it was not read or appreciated.   Love, Pam

Dear sister Pam, Your response to Dave was very kind.  It seems that Dave’s opinion of the true Name of our Creator and obedience to the Covenant remains as it has for many years.  And, as those who hold these things in contempt, Scripture is never used to “correct”, “rebuke”, or “train”  --  all we get to hear is their opinion.  I will once again begin to pray for Dave and those he may be able to help restore to the true faith.  Perhaps one day soon Yahusha will write His Covenant upon Dave’s heart as He has ours.
